Assigning SCBA to truck positions

  • The pack ID / serial number is pre-populated with the gear that was last logged in that location.
  • To change which pack is assigned to a position, type in the ID / serial number of the pack that you’re completing the inspection on. Make sure the ID of the pack you’re physically logging is what you input in PSTrax.
  • Click Retrieve Items to pull up the inspection list (adapted from NFPA 1852) and then click Log All Checked Items to log.
  • The next time you log SCBA in this position, the ID number will be automatically populated. You can delete out the pre-filled ID and input another one at any time.

Changing SCBA during an on-truck check

  1. On Home Page > Schedule click # SCBA items due under the vehicle / station where the SCBA is assigned.
  2. Enter the gear ID or serial number in the appropriate riding position and click Retrieve Items.
  3. Perform the checks listed on log form. If anything is malfunctioning, click the red alert icon and detail the issue.
  4. At the bottom of the inspection, click “Item failed inspection and needs replacement...” and then Log All Checked Items. This will log the current pack, but leave the truck position open so you can log another one.
  5. On the Due Today page, delete out the old pack number and input the one that matches the spare pack you’re checking off. Repeat the process to log the checks on the new pack.
